Spring 2012 Production Update

MARCH 1ST, 2012–For our first update in 2012, we have many new and exciting production developments to share with you.

On February 5th, editing was officially completed on “The Daughter”. With the picture now “locked”, our sound designer and colorist take over.

As sound designer, Mike Hough is responsible for almost everything you hear on screen. Working out of Shanghai, China, Mike will be manipulating both the production audio recorded on set and creating new sounds to build up the ambient world of the film. All gun shots, police sirens, and other sound effects must be carefully added to ensure maximum dramatic impact. Additionally, some actors may be called in to re-record their lines. The whole process is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks.

The color timing of “The Daughter” will take place in Los Angeles under director Jonathan M. Levine’s close supervision. Every single shot of the film will be altered for both maximum image clarity and adherence to television broadcast standards. The coloring process, which can take one hour per minute of film, also includes removing unwanted digital artifacts and checking for color cohesion between shots.
